In short: Huawei is one matched system — inverter, battery and app from a single brand
Alongside our open Deye and GoodWe line we now supply Huawei as well: a complete system in which the inverter (SUN2000), home battery (LUNA2000) and monitoring all come from the same brand and are designed around each other. Not loosely assembled parts, but one whole that works together seamlessly — with the added benefit of the freedom to site the battery further from the inverter.
One brand, matched to itself — that’s the strength
With an open system you pair an inverter from brand A with a battery from brand B. That works perfectly well, but they’re two worlds that have to talk to each other. Huawei does it differently: inverter and battery are the same brand and designed around each other. That means:
- One warranty, one point of contact — no “the inverter blames the battery and the battery blames the inverter” when a fault comes up.
- Guaranteed cooperation — battery, inverter and charging behaviour are matched at the factory; nothing has to be “made compatible”.
- Controlled intelligently as one whole — for the most benefit from your own solar power.
Everything in one app
Solar yield, battery level, consumption and the grid — you see and control it all in one app (FusionSolar). No separate apps for inverter and battery. If you like following your system and fine-tuning it (charging during the cheap hours, for instance), that’s a real plus.

Why Huawei works at high voltage
Huawei deliberately designed its whole system around high voltage, and there are concrete reasons behind it:
- The battery voltage sits exactly at the inverter’s best operating point. Each module delivers a high voltage that matches the inverter almost seamlessly, with very little current (around 12 amps at full power). So barely any energy is lost in the conversion or in the cabling — the system reaches more than 95% efficiency.
- The battery may sit further from the inverter — and this in particular is a reason we took Huawei on. Low current means thinner cables and up to 10 metres of distance (Huawei’s own spec), against around 3 metres with a low-voltage system. So the battery can go in an adjoining room, a store room or the garage.
- Fast charging, and every module independent — each 5 kWh module has its own optimiser and works independently, so an older, colder or fuller module doesn’t hold the rest back. Together the system charges and discharges quickly (up to 10.5 kW).
Whole-house backup and modular expansion
- Backup — if the grid fails, your home keeps running on the battery; with the three-phase models, on all three phases at once.
- Modular — you start with, say, 5 kWh and expand later in 5 kWh steps, without replacing everything. Each module has its own optimiser, so an older module doesn’t hold the rest back.
- Efficiency and warranty — more than 95% round-trip efficiency, and 10 years’ warranty on the battery.
Which Huawei system suits your home?
Huawei isn’t one inverter but a range, so there’s always one that suits your home. Which it turns out to be depends on your connection (single- or three-phase), your power and your roof.
Single-phase — most homes:
- Standard (SUN2000-LB0) — for an ordinary home, up to about 6 kW.
- High power (SUN2000-LC0) — for a large single-phase home, 8–10 kW.
Three-phase — here we choose from three systems, each for a different situation:
- Standard three-phase (SUN2000-MAP0) — for a normal-to-large three-phase home, up to about 12 kW.
- Heavy power (SUN2000-MB0) — for a large villa or a small business, up to around 25 kW: more panels and a bigger battery.
- With panel optimisers (SUN5000) — for a roof with shade or many different angles, in any size up to about 25 kW. Here every panel gets its own optimiser as standard, so shade or dirt on one panel doesn’t hold back the rest, you get more out of an awkward roof, and each panel can be individually de-energised (extra safe).
The difference lies in the panel optimisers. On the ordinary SUN2000 systems they’re optional — you only add them if your roof has shade, and often only on the panels that need them. On the SUN5000 they’re mandatory on every panel; that’s exactly what that system is built for.
Which system suits you, we decide together based on your situation — your connection, your consumption and your roof. Not the other way round.
Who is Huawei for?
Huawei suits any home — what makes you choose it is your preference. Do you want everything from one brand, brought together in one app, sorted without worry, and the freedom to put the battery somewhere other than beside the inverter? Then Huawei’s integrated convenience is exactly what you’re after: you’re deliberately choosing one matched system instead of separate parts that have to get along.

What we do for you
We’re certified to fit and configure Huawei properly, and we’ll advise you honestly on whether it suits your home, your consumption and your preference. So you get a system that’s right — and you know exactly why.
Worth saying plainly: as the article says, Huawei suits any home — what decides it is preference. An open Deye or GoodWe setup does the same job on different terms, so the real question is how you want it managed: one brand answering for everything in a single app, or the freedom to mix components. Where Huawei genuinely settles it is when the battery can’t sit next to the inverter — up to 10 metres away is something a low-voltage system won’t do. If you’d like to compare, the project write-ups show both approaches on real houses nearby, and we can give you references from customers running either.
