Frequently asked questions

The questions we're asked most about a charging point.

How fast does a charging point charge?

That depends on your connection and your car. With a single-phase connection (most homes) you charge up to around 7 kW; with a three-phase connection it can be 11 or even 22 kW. But your car sets the ceiling too — if it only takes 11 kW, a 22 kW charger won't charge it any faster. Together we choose the charger that suits both your connection and your car.

Which electric cars can I charge with it?

Almost all of them. Our charging points have the universal Type 2 connector, the European standard — so whether you drive a fully electric car or a plug-in hybrid, and whatever the make, you can simply charge it.

Can I have a charging point fitted without solar panels too?

Yes. You don't need solar panels — we fit the charging point on its own too, connected neatly to your consumer unit. If you get panels later, your car then charges on your own solar power; many people start with the charger and take the step to solar afterwards.

Where can the charging point go?

Almost anywhere you park your car — on the wall, in the garage, on a carport or an outside wall. The charging points are weatherproof, so outdoors in sun or rain is no problem. Together we choose the handiest spot and cable route.
