The choice
On the grid, or completely off it
The inverter is the heart of your system — it decides whether you're tied to the grid or standing free of it. Grid-tied, you feed your surplus back and get the fastest payback. Off-grid — batteries and an off-grid inverter — makes you fully self-sufficient, ideal in the campo where a grid connection soon runs to 10,000 to 15,000 euros; off-grid is often about the same price or cheaper there, and the grid bill is gone for good. If you want the security of the grid and your own storage, a hybrid inverter is the middle way — the grid as backup, with a smaller battery.

- Off-grid — batteries + off-grid inverter, fully self-sufficient
- Hybrid — the grid as backup, with a smaller battery
