APsystems: microinverters for 2 or 4 panels — good value, safe and right for Spain

In short: the benefits of microinverters, sensibly bundled

APsystems works with microinverters: small inverters that convert your solar power into ordinary AC electricity right up on the roof. Every panel then works independently — shade on one panel doesn’t hold the rest back, you can see what each panel produces, and it’s safer too. The clever part of APsystems: instead of one inverter per panel, a single unit serves 2 or 4 panels at once. Each panel keeps its own optimisation, but with fewer units — so it’s better value. And it grows with you: add the APsystems home battery later for storage and, if you want it, backup power during a cut.

How does it work?

  • Converted on the roof. Each microinverter makes AC up on the roof. So there’s no high DC voltage running through your house — safer, and no separate DC protection needed.
  • Every panel on its own. Each panel is optimised individually. If one underperforms through shade or dirt, it doesn’t drag the others down, and the app shows you exactly which panel it is.
  • Sensibly bundled. One unit for 2 panels (a duo) or 4 panels (a quad). Less hardware, lower cost per panel — with the same per-panel benefits.

What we use it for: from solar alone to storage and backup

An APsystems setup grows with you:

  • Solar only (grid-tied) — the basics: your panels supply your home and feed the grid.
  • Solar + home battery — add the APsystems home battery and store your own power for the evening.
  • Backup during a cut — if the grid drops out, your home keeps running on solar and battery.

You start wherever you like and expand later — without replacing your inverters.

The models — and what the “D” means

We choose the model for your roof: the number of panels, their output, and whether your home has a single- or three-phase connection. Here’s the full range, grouped by connection:

Single-phase — most homes:

DS3 series (DS3-L / DS3 / DS3-H)
A duo — 2 panels per unit, in three power ratings from light to heavy panels.
DS3D
A duo-double — 4 panels per unit.
QS2
A quad — 4 panels per unit, each with its own optimisation.

Three-phase — larger connections:

QT2
A quad — 4 panels per unit.
QT2D
A quad-double — 8 panels per unit, the largest.

So what does that “D” mean? The “D” stands for “double” (double capacity — more panels per unit). It says nothing about the phase: you’ll find it on single-phase (the DS3D) and on three-phase (the QT2D) alike.

You don’t need to work any of this out yourself — we match the right model to your roof.

The right models for Spain

Every model we supply is the EU version, certified to EN 50549 (and most also to the Spanish UNE 217002) — exactly the standard Spain requires under RD 1699. So you’re guaranteed the correct grid version for the Spanish network, not a foreign variant that isn’t allowed here.

Warranty

  • 12 years as standard on the single-phase models (10 years on the three-phase). We connect your system to the gateway (ECU) with monitoring to meet that warranty condition — which also means you see your per-panel yield every day.
  • Want longer? The warranty extends to 25 years for an additional cost — your call.
  • And we always buy through an authorised APsystems distributor, so your warranty is genuinely claimable if you ever need it.

Who is APsystems for?

APsystems is the sensible choice if you want the benefits of microinverters — optimisation, safety and insight per panel — at a keen price, because one unit drives several panels. Especially if your roof has shade or faces more than one direction, or if you simply want to know every panel is giving its best. Small or large, single- or three-phase: there’s a model to suit.

What we do for you

We choose the right APsystems model for your roof (panel count, output, single- or three-phase), fit and configure it, and set up the monitoring — so your warranty stays valid and you have insight panel by panel. We handle the EMA registration within 30 days of commissioning, which is what the extension to 25 years depends on.

Per-panel kit like this earns its keep on awkward roofs, and the coast is full of them. The project write-ups show a few — including a home in Santa Pola on microinverters — and we can give you references from customers nearby who’ve had theirs a while.
