In short: we keep everything with you in English
At Solarfit, everything we draw up and talk through with you is in English — the advice, your quote, your invoices and the aftercare. Only the official Spanish documents — your boletín, the memoria técnica, the registration with Industria — are in Spanish; that can’t be otherwise, they’re official Spanish papers. We arrange them for you and send them by email, with an explanation in English of which documents are attached and what they mean. And on the day itself, our own installers work on site in English or Spanish. Below we explain exactly how that works.
You sort it all in English
You handle your whole installation in English — from your first question to the aftercare. That’s far from a given on this coast: many installers leave you in Spanish, or at best in broken English. We think you should be able to make an investment of thousands of euros in the language in which you truly understand what you’re buying.
What exactly is in English?
Everything we draw up and talk through with you stays in English — from your first question to long after handover. Concretely, that means:
- the first conversation and the advice about your system;
- your tailored quote and your invoices, simply in English;
- the aftercare: if you have a question or a fault later on, you reach us in English.
The official papers themselves are a separate story. The legalisation — the memoria técnica, the boletín and the registration with Industria — consists of Spanish documents; that can’t be otherwise, they’re official Spanish papers. What we do: arrange them all for you. Every document — the boletín, the registration proof, the short confirmation — we send you by email, and in that email we explain in English which documents are attached and what they mean. So you get correct Spanish papers, with the explanation for each in the language you speak — for every document we send you.
And on the day itself? The installers speak English or Spanish
The on-site survey and the installation are handled by our installers, who work mainly in English or Spanish. We’d rather tell you up front than have you caught out at the door. And in practice you’ll barely notice, for three reasons:
- we coordinate the whole job and stay reachable in English;
- the survey and the installation are mostly about the work itself — the cable route, the best spot for the inverter, laying the panels;
- everything you need to know or sign, you’ve already been through with us in English.
So you keep control in English, even if it’s English or Spanish being spoken on the roof.
Why language matters so much here
The language barrier with Spanish tradespeople is one of the biggest worries for foreign homeowners on the Costa Blanca. You’re investing a fair amount, the rules are different from home, and you want to be sure you understand what you’re signing and what’s happening on your roof. That’s why we handle the communication, the quote and the paperwork in English, and keep it clear and simple on site. Want to see how the whole journey from enquiry to working installation runs?
