SolarEdge: every panel on its own, and more power later without a new inverter

In short: SolarEdge gets the most out of every panel — and grows with your home

SolarEdge works in its own way: every panel gets its own “power optimiser”, a small smart unit that keeps that panel independently at its maximum output. So you get more from a roof with shade, several orientations or angles, you see panel by panel how each is performing, and the system is safer too. And because we supply the inverter adjustable (the MultiRange), you can gain more power or more panels later — without having to buy a new inverter.

Why we supply SolarEdge: every panel on its own

What makes SolarEdge special is that optimiser on each panel. On a roof that isn’t quite perfect, that’s exactly where it pays off:

  • Shade doesn’t hold the rest back — if one panel is troubled by a chimney, a tree or a bit of dirt, the others simply carry on at full tilt. On a roof with shade or several orientations you get noticeably more out of it.
  • Insight panel by panel — the app shows you what every panel produces. If one underperforms, you see straight away which one — no hunting, and maintenance at the right moment.
  • Extra safe (SafeDC) — switch the system off, or lose the inverter or the grid, and the voltage at each panel automatically drops back to around 1 volt. Handy during maintenance on the roof, and safer in an emergency.
  • Freedom in the design — panels on different roof planes, orientations or angles combine effortlessly into one system. On the irregular roofs along this coast, that’s a real plus.

Which SolarEdge do we offer on single-phase?

On single-phase we choose the SolarEdge Home Hub — the hybrid inverter that brings solar, home battery and backup together. What’s notable: it’s one inverter for the whole range from 2.2 to 10 kW. At installation we set it to exactly the output your system needs now.

You pair it with the SolarEdge home battery (up to three of them), and with the Backup interface your home keeps running when the grid drops out.

Growing without a new inverter

This is arguably the biggest long-term advantage. Because that same Home Hub inverter handles the whole range up to 10 kW, you aren’t tied to today’s output:

  • More panels later? Then we raise the setting on the same inverter — up to 10 kW — without you having to buy a new one.
  • A battery later, or a second and a third? Expandable whenever it suits you.
  • A charging point for the car? The system is prepared for it.

So you’re buying a system that grows with your home and your plans.

Three-phase too

Do you have a three-phase connection? Then we offer the SolarEdge Home Hub in three-phase, in 5, 8 and 10 kW — with the same smart panel optimisers, whole-house backup and insight panel by panel.

We pair the three-phase with the SolarEdge home battery (48 V) — designed as one system with the inverter. The solar power goes straight in (DC-coupled, up to 94.5% efficiency, no conversion losses), you follow and control everything in the same app, and it’s one brand: not two worlds that have to talk to each other, but a single point of contact. The battery uses safe LFP cells, expands modularly from 4.6 to 23 kWh, and carries 10 years’ warranty.

We always install SolarEdge with the original SolarEdge battery — a deliberate choice. Technically a 48 V battery from another brand will fit, but it brings hassle we’d rather spare you: an extra communication box, a dependency on the right firmware, and a warranty split across two brands. By fitting only the SolarEdge battery, we keep the system as it was meant to be — integrated, reliable, and with one brand responsible for the whole.

Which inverter and how much storage you need, we decide together based on your connection, your roof and your plans.

Who is SolarEdge for?

SolarEdge is the choice if your roof has shade or several orientations, if you want to be able to follow what’s happening panel by panel, or if you’re starting a little smaller now but want room to expand later. You’re deliberately choosing that smart per-panel technology, and you get more yield, more insight, more safety and more future-proofing in return.

What we do for you

We’re certified to fit and configure SolarEdge properly, and we’ll advise you honestly on whether it suits your roof and your plans. You get 12 years’ warranty on the inverter (extendable to 25) and 25 years on the optimisers. And if you want to expand later, we’ll arrange it.

For a sense of what that looks like on a real roof rather than in a brochure, have a look at the villa in Moraira or the villa near Dénia — both awkward roofs, both written up with what was fitted and what it produces. Ask us for references near you as well; on this coast people generally want to hear it from a neighbour before they hear it from an installer, and quite right too.
