An off-grid villa in Altea that runs on its own solar day and night

A modern villa in the hills of Altea running fully off the grid: 40 DMEGC glass-glass panels (18.8 kWp) on a Victron off-grid system with a home battery of around 40 kWh, so the villa runs on its own solar day and night — air-conditioning, pool and all. Legally registered and handled in your own language.

The situation in Altea before the installation

Chapter 1

The situation

A modern villa in the hills of Altea — a flat roof, plenty of sun, a pool and air-conditioning that draw heavily. The owner didn't just want to save on the grid bill, but to become truly independent: run the villa entirely on its own solar, day and night, off the grid.

The challenge on this project in Altea

Chapter 2

The challenge

Take a whole villa genuinely off-grid: enough panels and a battery big enough to run everything — air-conditioning, pool, kitchen — day and night, with an inverter that handles heavy starting loads. All laid out neatly on the flat roof and legally registered.

Our approach in Altea

Chapter 3

Our approach

We fitted 40 glass-glass panels (DMEGC 470 Wp, 18.8 kWp together) on a ballasted frame on the flat roof and built a Victron off-grid system around them with a home battery of around 40 kWh — sized to measure, so the villa runs on its own solar day and night, off the grid. Two Victron RS 450/200 chargers — eight MPPT trackers together — catch the whole 18.8 kWp array evenly, and a transformer-based Victron Quattro 48/15000 inverter starts heavy loads like the air-conditioning and the pool pump with ease; you track it all remotely in the VRM monitoring. The legalisation — a proyecto técnico (by an engineer), boletín and registration with Industria — and the aftercare we handled in full, in your own language.

The result

18.8 kWp

Fully off-grid

40 DMEGC panels on the flat roof run the villa on its own solar by day and charge the battery — off the grid.

40 kWh

Day and night

The home battery keeps the sun for the evening and the night, so the villa runs on its own solar 24/7 — air-conditioning and pool included.

“They sorted everything — the paperwork and the whole installation. We didn't have to chase a thing. Nice that it can all be done in English.”
