A modern detached villa in the hills of Benidorm, with a flat roof and large glass frontages, wanted to be rid of the electricity bill and sure of power for the house, air-conditioning and terrace — off the grid and away from the grid operator.
Chapter 2
Spread the panels neatly across the flat roof faces on mounting frames, and set up a fully self-sufficient system that reliably runs the summer cooling load on solar and battery too — sized to the real consumption and legalised, so insurance and resale are covered.
Chapter 3
We fitted 28 JA Solar glass-glass panels of 465 Wp, 13.0 kWp together, on mounting frames spread across the flat roof. We tied those to a Victron Quattro 48/10000 off-grid inverter (10 kVA, ~8 kW) with a Victron MPPT RS 450/200 charger (11.5 kW, 4 trackers) and a Pylontech battery bank of around 27 kWh (48 V), sized for the house, air-conditioning and terrace with reserve for dark days. We legalised the whole system with a proyecto técnico (by an engineer), boletín and registration with Industria.
